Classic Coffee was another branding project given to me by a VIU professor, in which each member of our design class was given a different type of business to design the branding for. Mine was a fictional heritage coffee house in downtown Nanaimo that I decided to name Classic Coffee. This historic business was supposed to embody a cozy, rustic atmosphere while at the same time representing a modern streamlined business. Classic Coffee is supposed to feel like high end experience inside an old mountain cabin, warm happy and safe.
Throughout the different stages of this project I was tasked with designing multiple types of assets for the business. Starting off with the logo I tried to carry the same rustic exposed wood theme over to the business card, letterhead and envelope. Using vector graphics I had created from an image of wood bark, I expanded and resized my design to fit each of them individually. Although I didn’t use the same graphics for the rack card and magazine ad, I feel the texture I did use still maintained strong coherence throughout all of the branding.
