RC clothing designs are usually designs that I’ve made custom or done personally for someone. They tend to vary in theme, brand, composition etc, but all are designed with their intended audience in mind. I’ve produced various different pieces of clothing and mockups for quite a few individuals and small businesses, with the selection you’ll find below being some of my favourites. Although none of these are sold by me, they have all been produced and sold by the appropriate parties.
Kootenay Lake Operating Room
After being reached out to by one of the nurses at my local hospital, I took a crack at designing some hoodies for the members of their operating room staff. A print shop in town had offered to make free hoodies for their entire department on the stipulation that they provide the design. After hearing the brunt of the ideas the Nurses had, I got straight to work. They had requested Nelson’s iconic Big Orange Bridge (or B.O.B as the locals call it) and an ekg reading to be the to be the main features of the hoodie, with room for the name of the hospital and department acronym as well. I began by loading a picture of good old B.O.B into illustrator and tracing all of the main beams of his structure before giving everything the appropriate stroke wight and laying the graphic onto the back of the hoodie. For the front I chose to take a silhouette of Elephant Mountain, which sits directly behind B.O.B in Nelson, and lay the ekg reading over that in order to make it pop more. After sending some rougher designs to the nurse who was organizing everything, we made some tweaks and finally settled on this design.
Second Year Celebration
Just a little personal project here. This was a shirt that I actually designed for myself, to celebrate finishing the second year of my bachelor's degree. I just wanted to make something super simple and fun that I could print for myself, so I chose to use my initials and a little crown along with Y2, for year 2 and 22 for the year itself. I wasn't actually able to print this shirt at the time I made it but was more than happy to create this mockup for myself in the interim.
Whitewater Ski Resort
For the gift shop on my local mountain, I designed these shirts to got on sale at Whitewater Ski Resort. I designed, cut and pressed them myself with the “Ski-Mu” actually starting as a sketch I had done at the mountain.
I advertised the shirts on my instagram at the time, alongside Whitewaters sale announcement, resulting in more interested customers making their way over to the gift shop in their free time. We sold almost all of the stock I had made, with enough left on the side for a few gifts for friends and family. I had a blast working with the store manager and organizing this quirky mini-drop for the patrons of the ski hill to enjoy.
